ST. FAGANS OUTDOOR MUSEUM IN WALES, SEPT. 8,2009

Old Celtic thatched roof round houses as would have been 500 years ago in villages. They were dark and smokey with the fires right inside and logs to sit on . This St. Fagans had a collection of many old types of dwellings and villages from hundreds of years ago in Wales. A very interesting place to walk around. Alli and Dad found old beehives and thought they made cute hats! This was near a house re-created house to look as if it were how they would live in the 1500s. There was a vegetable garden and pastures with big old pigs.
This was the cock fighting arena in a village there Dad and Alli are being tough.
An old water wheel to run a mill for grinding corn or wheat, at St. Fagans. Dad and his girls.

Thatched roofs are such a novelty, and are seen in many places in England. This is the first one we had seen actually under construction and hopefully shows how they are done. This one was in Wales by St. Fagans.
