We all went to see Les Miserables , while we were in London, and loved that show! We were humming it all the way home on the train even tho it was near midnight. Jason on the streets of London with a typical double decker bus and a red phone booth. He looks like the perfect tourist!
We lucked out and were there when the Palace was open to the public in some of the rooms of the Buckingham palace. We stood in line then walked thru and saw such opulence you couldn't imagine. It was beautiful and old and we are glad we saw it. This is in the garden going out of the palace just as we were leaving. The busy streets of London are just outside of the gates but it was calm in there. This is outside the gates of Buckingham Palace as crowds were starting to gather to see the changing of the guards. It was great to see it from inside the gates and up close and personal. We could see them chatting to each other a little and were required to be dressed decent and not to take pictures to be the guests of the queen inside!
We went to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards. We got special treatment as we know one of the Queens guards and he got us inside the Palace gates to watch the change. We were standing waiting on the red carpeted steps to the palace before it started, while hundreds were standing outside wondering who the important people were inside the gates.
